1Who we are
This policy explains how [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("HappyUps", "we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit happyups.com, use the HappyUps mobile app, contact us through a form on the website, or take part in our programmes, coaching, courses, events or travel experiences.
We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

2Information we collect
Information you give us
When you send a message through the website, or ask about a programme, coaching, a package, a course, gifting or a travel experience, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it
- The topic you selected and anything you write in the message box
If you go on to work with us, we will also hold the information needed to deliver and administer that service, such as booking details, appointment records and payment references.
Information from the HappyUps app
If you create an account in the HappyUps app, we collect the information you provide when registering and the entries you record in the app, including your twice-daily check-in ratings across the six dimensions (happiness, love, money, energy, spirituality and health), the notes and aspirations you save, and your reminder settings.
Some of this can say something about your health or state of mind. We treat it as sensitive information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone outside HappyUps except as described in "Who we share information with" below.
Confirm exactly what the app stores on the device versus on our servers, and add anything collected at sign-up such as date of birth or country.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and the site you arrived from. This comes from cookies and similar technologies.
If HappyUps adds analytics, a chat widget or advertising pixels, name them here.
3How we use your information
| What we collect | Why we use it | Our legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Message form details | To reply to you and discuss the service you asked about | Your consent, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries |
| Service and booking records | To deliver the programme, session, course or experience you booked | Performance of our contract with you |
| App account and check-in entries | To give you your own reports, patterns and reminders in the app | Performance of our contract, and your explicit consent for health-related entries |
| Website usage data | To keep the site secure and understand what people find useful | Our legitimate interest in running and improving the site |
| Marketing contact details | To send updates about HappyUps, if you asked to receive them | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Records of consent, invoices, correspondence | To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations | Compliance with a legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your app entries to target advertising.
4Marketing
We will only send you marketing messages if you have asked us to, or if you are an existing client and the message is about a closely related service. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at info@happyups.com to stop them at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect messages we need to send you about a service you have booked.
5Who we share information with
We share personal information only where it is needed, and only with:
- Service providers who run things on our behalf, such as website hosting, email delivery, appointment scheduling, payment processing and analytics. They may only use the information to provide that service to us.
- Practitioners, coaches or partners delivering a service you have booked, where they need your details to deliver it.
- Professional advisers such as accountants, auditors and lawyers, where confidentiality applies.
- Authorities or regulators, where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor, if HappyUps is ever sold, merged or reorganised, subject to this policy.
List the main providers used, for example the hosting company, email platform and analytics provider.
6Where your information is held
Our website and systems are hosted with providers that may store information outside [COUNTRY]. Where information is transferred abroad, we take steps to ensure it has an appropriate level of protection, such as standard contractual clauses with the provider.
7How long we keep it
- Messages that do not become a booking: [12 months] from your last message.
- Client and booking records: [7 years] after the service ends, to meet tax and accounting rules.
- App account and check-in entries: for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise them within [30 days].
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, then we keep a minimal record so we do not contact you again by mistake.
- Website analytics: [26 months].
8Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to make the website work, to remember your preferences, and to understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work as expected.
If a cookie banner or consent tool is added, describe the categories used and how to change the choice.
9Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the website, access controls, and limiting access to those who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we review our measures regularly and will notify you and the relevant authority if a breach affects your rights, as the law requires.
10Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses
- Receive your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
- Complain to your data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email info@happyups.com. We will respond within [30 days]. We may need to verify your identity first.
11Children
HappyUps is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under [16]. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us at info@happyups.com and we will delete it.
12Other websites
Our website and app may link to other sites, such as the App Store, Google Play or partner pages. This policy does not cover those sites, and we encourage you to read their own privacy policies.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the website.
